Pre-Intermediate informal letter

Dear Mum, Thank you for your email. I am really looking forward to seeing you again soon. We have been lucky here in Dunedin so far this winter, with reasonable temperatures and very few frosts In spite of Blenheim being one of the warmest cities in the South Island, I remember it being cold back when I was a child, so I will bring my thermals when I come up. I depart from Dunedin Airport at 10.54am on the 9th of August (the day before your birthday!) and arrive at 12.45pm the same day. I'm staying until I depart from Blenheim Airport again at 6.01pm on the 13th of August and arrive back in Dunedin at 8.40pm. Since I saw you last I have become a vegetarian, and I no longer eat meat. I can't wait to show you some of my favourite dishes. My mum, Joanna Dudson-Scott My mother is a loving and caring person and only wants the best for our family. She is a full-time artist and works from home out of her own gallery that my parents built on-site.  She takes inspiration from the landscape around her. The mountains, rivers and vineyards are the most common features in her work.  My hometown Blenheim is a small town at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. It is a quiet place, located close to the coast, and is warm and sunny in summer with lots of vineyards and wineries.  It is also very close to the spectacular Marlborough Sounds with their natural forests and amazing fiords. I enjoy walking, camping and having picnics there with my family.
